The Picky Bookworm

"Books are a uniquely portable magic." –Stephen King

I loved reading as a kid. Even as a young adult I would devour book after book after book. Some of these books have been lost to time, so I’m going to revive one on the first thursday of each month. Today’s throwback is to a Victoria Holt book. I can remember it’s being one of the first “adult” books I read in high school. I don’t mean adult like porn, because Victoria’s books are very clean in that respect. I mean the characters were adults, not teenagers or kids.

This book is called The Pride of The Peacock. The main character finds out she’s a descendent of a famous pirate, after she’s forced into a bad marriage and moves to Australia. The book is full of adventure and travel and exciting events. I will be giving this a reread very soon. I remember its being a very good book. It’s been way too long since I read it.

Have you read this book? What did you think? I truly hope my memory isn’t faulty on this book. I’ll update once I read it. Until next time, bookworms!
