I saw a post on One Book More about characters she’d love to go on a date with. Since I’m married, and dating anyone beside my husband would be inappropriate, I decided on lunch instead. This post will focus on characters I consider to be intelligent, and characters that I think would be able to tell a good story, or hold a good conversation. Ready? Let’s go!
Harper from A Curse So Dark and Lonely
Harper is one of my favorite book characters! She’s so empowered, despite having Cerebral Palsy. In most incarnations of the Beauty and the Beast tale, the Belle character is kind of weak. She doesn’t assert herself much. In this retelling, Harper is strong, and opinionated. I’m pretty sure she would have some awesome stories about living in Emberfell!
Jo from Little Women
Little Women is probably my favorite book of all time, and I love the Jo character! She’s amazing, and strong and soft all at the same time. She’s a bookworm just like me, so we would have amazing conversations about books and characters, and maybe I could read some of her stories!
Scarlet from Scarlet Stone
Scarlet is another really strong character that I identify with. She retired from being a thief, and traveled halfway across the world to get back in touch with her roots. Family is very important to her, and when she loves, she loves with her entire being. I’m fairly sure she would have amazing stories about her adventures.
Casey from Airframe
Casey, while not being someone I identify with, is a very smart character, who would have amazing stories about the airplanes she works with. She’s a woman in a male-dominated field, and has been able to hold her own. I love that.
Thomas from The Circle Series
Thomas is the only man I put on the list, but he belongs here. Thomas has dreams of another world, that feels very real to him. He never really feels he belongs in our world, but would have such good stories!
Mele from How to Party with An Infant
Mele is a foodie. She loves to cook, and she loves creating new recipes. She uses inspiration from her friends to create new an inspired dishes. I’d be curious what she would create for me! We would talk food, and she would open my eyes to new foods and curiosity about new ways of creating dishes.
How about you? Any book characters that you would love to have lunch with? Fictional or not, imagination is always welcome! Let me know in the comments below!
