I’m pretty sure COVID-19 can go to hell where it belongs. As much as I’ve been enjoying being home with my family, and spending time building my blog, I’m ready for things to get back to normal. But in the meantime, we’ve been enjoying some new TV shows, and I thought you might be interested. If you’ve seen any of these, please let me know!
American Gods on Starz
Hubs and I have been in quarantine for about 2 months now, and are starting to run out of things to watch on TV. Until last night, when we decided to check out American Gods on Starz. I’m telling you guys, this show is WEIRD. It’s about a war between the “Old” gods (Odin, Anubis, Bilquis, etc…) and the “New” gods (Media, Internet, Tech, etc…). Stuck in the middle, basically, is Shadow Moon. Yes, that is really his name. Mr. Wednesday (Odin, but we don’t know that yet. Thanks to Internet, we were able to figure it out) has hired Shadow as his “man.” So Shadow basically just drives Mr. Wednesday around the country for 2,000 a week. If Mr. Wednesday wasn’t such a dick, I would enjoy that job.
Disclaimer: this show has a LOT of adult content. If this bothers you, you might wanna steer clear.
Another show we’ve really been enjoying is The Mandalorian. We started it the other day, and I gotta say, baby Yoda is ADORABLE!!! We haven’t gotten very far in this show, but so far it’s proving to be quite entertaining. I don’t really understand much about what’s going on except the Mandalorian was hired as a bounty hunter to catch something really important. The important thing turns out to be Baby Yoda, and a bunch of other crap happens, so the Mandalorian ends up basically saving/adopting Yoda to keep him from the bad guys. This show is really good, but I think I need to pay better attention in the future.
The Food Network
Hubs and I are foodies. We love to cook, we love to eat, and we love to watch television about food and eating. Chopped and Worst Cooks in America are two staples in our diet of food shows. Chopped has so many episodes right now on On Demand, so we’ve been going back and watching some of the older episodes. They’re really enjoyable. Worst Cooks in America? That show is HILARIOUS! We started watching it last year sometime, and fell in love! Anne Burrell is SO funny, but you can tell she really wants to help these horrible cooks (one of them ACTUALLY burned water. Didn’t know that was possible) become better. The series currently on is Celebrity edition, featuring some people I don’t know, but also Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey from Full House) and Bert from Big Bang Theory. I honestly don’t remember what his real name is, because to me he will always be the lovable giant from BBT.
What shows have you been watching? Anything You think I might enjoy? Let me know in the comments! Quarantine is basically kicking all of our butts, and we need to find enjoyment in the little things 🙂 Until next time, bookworms!
