The Picky Bookworm

"Books are a uniquely portable magic." –Stephen King

I didn’t want to like this movie.

“ANOTHER fairy tale? They’re probably going to butcher it, and I’ll hate it because it’s nothing like the original.”

That’s exactly what I told myself, but in fact I ended up LOVING this movie because it was nothing like the original.

Rapunzel is trapped in a tower. Every year on her birthday, Rapunzel sees “the flying stars” in the sky far away and would love nothing better than to see them in person.

This movie tells the Rapunzel fairy tale in a different, delightful, and empowering way. Rapunzel didn’t just sit in her tower until the prince came to save her. First, she knocked him out with a frying pan.

This is such a fun movie. As much as I dislike cartoons most of the time, this one is well worth watching. I don’t want to share too much, because I want you to get on Disney + and watch for yourself. I promise you won’t regret it!

Until next time, bookworms!
