Use proofreading services to give your book a reader’s viewpoint

So you’ve written a book, you’ve sent it to the editor, and it all looks really great. The story is fantastic, and you’re ready to publish….or are you?

That final step before publishing is where I come in.

I have been a reader and bookworm for most of my life. I run across books that make me think “I wish they had asked ME about this!” Giving my opinion on published books is amazing, and I wouldn’t change it for anything, but helping an author get the professional look they want is something above and beyond. If you’re interested in my proofreading services, please check out my policies below.

Proofreading is not like editing. I promise not to change the feel and voice of your book.

My main focus is helping with the small things, like grammar and punctuation. I ran across one book that used “bought” instead of “brought” once; those are the kind of changes that I would suggest.

I charge $5.00 per 10,000 words, for the first 70,000 words.

After 70,000 words, the price goes up $7.50 per 10,000 words.

Please allow 30 days for your book to be proofread. If you have a rush job (less than 30 days), please note that in your contact, and be prepared to pay a rush fee of $50.

I reserve the right to change my price at any time. This will not affect projects currently under contract.

What People Are Saying

“Pamela was such a joy to work with. She’s professional and honest. My favorite thing about working with her was the level of care she put into keeping true to the flow and style of my writing, even when suggesting a sentence restructure. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for meticulous editing done with care.”
