4 Amazing Christmas Songs [Blogmas 2021]

Music is huge in many people’s lives. Personally, I don’t listen to much music, but when it comes to Christmas music, there are many songs I’ll listen to year-round. Continue reading for a list of my favorite Christmas songs, and let me know your favorites in the comments!

This blog specializes in indie and self-pub books, so you’ll for sure see some of the best of the best this upcoming year. I just finished reading Everlong, so be sure to check out our Golden Girls podcast episode for our discussion on this beautiful book!

Favorite Christmas Song #1: Oh Holy Night by Mariah Carey

If you haven’t heard of this one, I would be REALLY surprised. This is one of Mariah’s most famous renditions of a traditional Christmas carol, and I gotta say, she does it REALLY well.

I love blasting this song in my car and belting out the lyrics right along with Mariah. While this rendition is, and always will be my favorite, other artists have made their own versions as well. Some of my other favorites are:

  • Pentatonix
  • Home Free
  • TransSiberian Orchestra
  • Josh Groban

You can listen to Mariah Carey’s version below:

Favorite Christmas Song #2: I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

Ok, so this song hasn’t been on my list for very long, but it’s easily made it to the top. It’s such a cute song, with adorable lyrics, and you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who isn’t willing to belt along with this song.

Favorite Christmas Song #3:  Little Drummer Boy by Pentatonix

Pentatonix has quickly climbed my personal charts for their versions of various Christmas songs. You’ll notice several by them on this list. This was the first one I ever heard, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This is one song that I will listen to year-round, because of the beautiful harmonies.

Favorite Christmas Song #4: Mary, Did you Know? By Pentatonix

Did you know? This song was originally written by Mark Lowry, a member of the Gaither Vocal Band, and a stand up comedian.

If you’ve never seen any of his video specials, I think you can find them on Youtube. I absolutely adore the version of this song by Pentatonix, though, because of…you guessed it….the harmony. They do such a beautiful version of this song. I hope you enjoy!

What did you think of these 4 amazing Christmas songs? Do you have favorites? What are they? I know there are likely ones I’ve never heard, because of so many different artists out there.
