Welcome to another “Meet the Author” post! The dream I have for The Picky Bookworm, is to create a community where authors can feel supported, seen, and encouraged. So, I created a form with various questions, and authors can fill it out. Several times a month, I take those answers and create a post like this one. If you are interested in adding your post to this series, you can fill it out here.

Do you have a published book? What’s it called?

Yes, so far one. “Musings of a Little Heart.”

Did you choose to self-publish your book, or query to publishers? Why did you choose this route?

For “Musings” I self-published through KDP. Because I am not great with rejection. However, now that “Musings” is published, for my first fiction novel, I would like to try querying to publishers first before I go back to self-publishing.

Is it your dream to write full-time? Why or Why not?

Yes. The passion I have for writing, the joy and fulfillment I get from my words, there is no better career for me. Being a reader, I know how much a good book can impact your day and maybe even your life. The idea of my book being that for someone else, it just is my greatest dream. Being a full-time author would make that dream more achievable.

What genre do you write in? Why did you choose this genre?

  • Contemporary Romance, because romance is one of my favorite genres.
  • Paranormal Fiction, because I believe there is some truth in the idea of the supernatural.
  • Poetry, because it is an outlet for my mental health.

What kinds of books do you like to read?

  • Contemporary Romance
  • Historical Romance
  • Romantic Comedy
  • Paranormal Fiction
  • YA
  • Suspense

Besides books, what inspires you on a daily basis?

Honestly, my full-time job at the local gas station. My interaction with people feeds so much of my creativity.

What are your favorite writing tools? Why?

I have 2, my journal and my tablet. Something about the beautiful cover and the way the journal was made just sparks something. The tablet because it is portable and always with me.

Name 3 authors from the indie writing community who everyone should be friends with

I am not sure to be honest. I am struggling to learn how to make friends.

Give me time to get comfortable and I promise my awkward rambling will be endearing.

Pamela has been a reader her whole life. She specializes in indie and self-published books, and dreams of a community where authors can feel supported and encouraged. Because of this, her editing services are priced specifically with self-published author budgets in mind.

She also loves connecting other readers with hidden gems from the indie community through book reviews and showcases authors through her podcast and “Meet the Author” blog series. Her book-inspired gift shop is an amazing place to find book inspired candles, book gift sets, and other amazing items.

When Pamela is not working on The Picky Bookworm, you can find her hanging with her friends on Twitter, pinning amazing pins on Pinterest, reading, spending time with her husband, or playing with her cats Simon and Glenn. Sometimes all at the same time.

  1. This was a fun read. I love how she gets inspiration from her job. When you work with the public, you meet a lot of characters. So I can see that being a gold mine of details and dialog.
