Poison From a Scorpion’s Sting [Cover Reveal]

R. Ramey Guerrero and I have been friends on Twitter for quite a while now. I’ve had the honor of proofreading both her debut book, Dust of a Moth’s Wing, as well as its sequel, Poison from a Scorpion’s Sting.

When Ramey contacted me and asked to do a cover reveal on my blog, I knew I had to say yes. I’ve never actually done one before, so this is a learning experience. I asked Ramey to treat it like a guest post, so she wrote a small blurb for this cover reveal. If you’ll click play on the video below, you can watch the cover reveal of Poison of a Scorpion’s Sting.

Ramey’s Story

When I began drafting The Age of Fire, I was eleven years old. I didn’t have a happy childhood, and I was deeply depressed after being taken away from my family just the year before. This is where I normally would have retreated into worlds of fantasy, but in my new household, I wasn’t allowed to read secular material.

So, I stole a copy of The Hobbit (sorry) and hid it in my locker at school because my room was often searched for secular contraband. Tolkien’s world reminded me of the home that was stolen from me, and it made me realize something.

My authoritarian guardians couldn’t stop me from creating my own world.

And so, that’s what I did. Now, I’m preparing to release my second book, Poison from a Scorpion’s Sting— a continuation to Wen’s story.

Blurb for Poison from a Scorpion’s Sting

The age of Fire is fast approaching. Will it bring chaos the way that the Oracles foretold? The Nez’kali has failed. Slate’s actions are to blame. Without Adahai to advocate for Fire’s return, no one protested in the streets. There is only one day before the age of Fire, and the Nez’kali is near death and under the scrutiny of the Council of Elders.

Can Slate convince Wasii Pon Ruwa that Nokhum is not a danger to the people?

I hope you enjoyed this cover reveal! I very much enjoyed making this video, and look forward to working with other authors in the future to make some for them as well.
