Most books are a blend of genres, even when we don't expect it. Let me know the best blend of genres you've seen in a book, particularly a murder mystery.

I'm a big fan of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, about a detective operating in Chicago who is also a wizard. A lot of the books fall under murder mystery, while simultaneously being the best urban fantasy I've ever seen.
